to a tired seeker --Nisargadatta Maharaj
Q: I am tired of all the ways and means and skills and tricks, of all these mental acrobatics. Is there a way to perceive reality directly and immediately?
M: Stop making use of your mind and see what happens. Do this one thing thoroughly. That is all.
Nisargadatta Maharaj
Self-remembrance, awareness of “I am’ ripens man powerfully and speedily.
Give up all ideas about yourself and simply be.
Stop making use of your mind and see what happens.
Do this one thing thoroughly.
That is all.
~Nisargadatta Maharaj
How to gain Divine Grace?
Maharshi.: By surrender.
Devotee.: Still I do not feel Grace.
Maharshi.: Sincerity is wanting. Surrender should not be verbal nor conditional. Passages from St. Justinian were read out to illustrate these statements. Prayer is not verbal. It is from the heart. To merge into the Heart is prayer. That is also Grace.
The Alwar says: “I was all along seeking Thee. But on realising the Self I find you are the Self. The Self is my all, and so you are my All.”
The one who surrenders everything, including himself, and the one who finds nothing, including himself, discover the same Truth.

he is not the body, -Ramana Maharishi
In the beginning one has to be told
that he is not the body,
because he thinks that he is the body only.
Whereas he is the body and all else.
The body is only a part.
Let him know it finally.
But he must first discern consciousness from insentience and be the consciousness only.
This is discrimination (viveka).
The initial discrimination must persist to the end.
Its fruit is liberation.

Sadhana Raman
"Sadhana is only to get rid of the bodily and other illusions which are in the way of the self standing up as Self. This delusion arises only by thinking that this bodily world is real, instead of looking at the Self, which is real. Sadhana is only to get rid of this illusion. Otherwise, why should there be sadhana for the Self to attain its own Self? He who has realised his own Self does not recognize anything else.”

afraid of liberation
It is astonishing that
one who is unattached to
the things of this world or the next,
who discriminates between
the permanent and the impermanent,
and who longs for liberation,
should still be afraid of liberation.
Ashtawakra Gita

The world is a result of your mind.
The world is a result of your mind.
Know your mind.
The world is only a phenomenon
appearing on that pure consciousness.
Pure Consciousness is itself unaffected.
The Universe is like a painting on a screen.
That which rises and sinks
is made up of what it rises from.
The finality of the universe is the Self.

rejection of mental activities
From ~~~~ Living by the Words of Bhagavan.
Annamalai Swami:
When the mind appears every morning
don't jump to the usual conclusion,
"This is me; these thoughts are mine."
don't jump to the usual conclusion,
"This is me; these thoughts are mine."
Instead,
watch these thoughts come and go
without identifying with them in any way.
watch these thoughts come and go
without identifying with them in any way.
If you can resist the impulse
to claim each and every thought as your own,
you will come to a startling conclusion:
you will discover that you are the consciousness
in which the thoughts appear and disappear.
to claim each and every thought as your own,
you will come to a startling conclusion:
you will discover that you are the consciousness
in which the thoughts appear and disappear.
~~~~~~~~~~~
When the rejection of mental activities
becomes continuous and automatic,
you will begin to have the experience
of the Self.
becomes continuous and automatic,
you will begin to have the experience
of the Self.
~~~~~~~~~
The thought “I am meditating” is an ego thought.
If real meditation is taking place, this thought cannot arise.
